Our Committee
We raise £6,000 annually to support our library through a combination of community-driven efforts, memberships, and external funding. Here’s how we achieve it:
- Hosting Events Throughout the Year:
Engaging with our community is at the heart of our fundraising. We organize a range of events such as book fairs, quiz nights, author talks, workshops, and seasonal celebrations. These events not only generate funds but also bring people together, creating a sense of community while promoting the library’s role as a cultural hub. - Library Supporters Subscribing as Friends or Patrons:
We invite library supporters to contribute by becoming Friends or Patrons. These subscription models provide a steady stream of income, enabling us to plan and invest in library resources. Friends make an affordable annual contribution, while Patrons, as our most dedicated supporters, contribute at a higher level. In return, subscribers enjoy exclusive benefits, including early access to events, recognition, and a deeper connection to our mission. - Donations and Grants:
Generous donations from individuals, local businesses, and community groups play a vital role in reaching our goal. Additionally, we actively seek grants from charitable organizations and trusts that support literacy, education, and community development. These grants often enable us to undertake special projects or upgrade facilities, ensuring our library remains a vibrant and valuable resource.
Through these combined efforts, we not only secure the necessary funds but also strengthen our connection with the community, ensuring the library continues to thrive and serve as a cornerstone of learning and inspiration.
